Driver Less Vision will be part of the upcoming Designs for Different Futures exhibition at the Philadelphia Museum of Art. The exhibition team includes Urtzi Grau, Guillermo Fernández-Abascal, Daniel Perlin and Max Lauter. The installation explores the visionary and sometimes controversial designs that promise to transform how we live in any number of possible futures. It is both a visualization tool and a post-human parliament. It helps us to understand that reality is fundamentally linked to the point of view of the actor observing it. For humans, the city is what we perceive, but what is it for driverless cars? The installation depicts the urban environment from an autonomous vehicle’s perspective and its dramatization moves the conversation away from data to focus it on governance.
Designs for Different Futures is organized by the Philadelphia Museum of Art, the Walker Art Center, and the Art Institute of Chicago.
