This contemporary ‘Social Condenser’ envisions a new planned interior with a collection of social-life-activity-platforms such as bars, clubs, hidden Izakayas, sporting, accommodations and public bathing houses. When visitors wander through the venue, they will frequently experience the conversion between open, semi-open and closed spaces. At the same time, the body and mind will feel the transformation of public, semi-public and intimate experience. Thus, new social events are formed within the club, especially in the overlaps between juxtaposed activities. The spatial planning of the project is precise yet appears accidental, making more explicit its unusual sense of autonomy as a social condenser in the context of Sydney Harbour.
